Dr. Amy Stanhope
Art Psychotherapist, PhD, BAAT, HCPC
As an experienced Art Psychotherapist and EMDR therapist, Amy specialises in perinatal mental health, trauma, parenting, and neurodivergence. Amy's trauma-informed approach caters to individuals facing complex post-traumatic stress following exposure to dynamics such as narcissistic family members, attachment trauma from difficult early relationships, or those navigating the challenges of single event trauma, including experiences such as birth trauma.
Therapy sessions can draw upon Art Psychotherapy, EMDR and somatic (emotions held in the body) informed approaches to provide a unique, personalised approach to mental well-being. Evidence shows that such therapeutic interventions can support communication at times when talking feels too challenging, allowing processing of subconscious influences, emotions and experiences.
